Review & Look | Born Pretty Store - Waterproof Gel Eyeshadow in Deep Teal

Hey there, ladies!

Born Pretty Store sent me a few items to review and today I'll be reviewing a waterproof eyeshadow in Teal.

First, a little bit about Born Pretty Store:

"BPS Import & Export Co., Ltd was set up in 2010. Over the past three years, it has developed rapidly from a store merely selling nail art items to a shop mainly selling beauty items including nail art items and cosmetics, accessorizes, cell phone cases, etc. The original inspiration of the name born pretty store comes from proverb “each woman is born pretty”. Combining the aim of providing beauty items to the female, we incorporated it into the name “born pretty”store. Bornprettystore is a store intended to provide each ordinary female, whoever they are, wherever they come from, with the latest fashion items of nail art, make up and outfit, helping them find the best way to dress up, which ultimately push outside their potential beauty to the fullest."

Waterproof Gel Eyeshadow in Deep Teal from Born Pretty Store - $5.21
I will be honest and say that I was not impressed when I took this little jar out of the packaging. It's pretty plain jane and doesn't seem like much at first. However, when I started to play around with it, I became more and more impressed. The consistency of this product isn't like a normal gel eyeshadow or liner. It's soft and easy to manipulate. A little definitely goes a long way with this product as well.

Swatches
First - Applied with an eyeshadow brush with NYX Jumbo Eye pencil in Milk
Second - Applied with an eyeshadow brush alone
Third - Applied with my finger and blended out

I found that it applied better with a small eyeshadow brush because the consistency is so soft and wet, you need a smaller eyeshadow brush to concentrate the product where you want it to go. It does take some time to set since it's got a wet, rather than a more elastic, consistency. However, once it's set...it's set! No transfer, no rubbing off, and the pigmentation was great.

Blending it out was a little bit of a challenge, though. It isn't as blendable as, say, the Maybelline Color Tattoos. However, that wasn't too much of a big deal for me and it was somewhat expected. Also, some of the reviews on the website suggest that it dries matte. I found that if it is primed with a white base, it dries matte; and when it is applied alone, it dries shimmery.

The lasting power on this baby isn't too bad. It isn't nearly as long-lasting as the Maybelline 24hr Color Tattoos, but I got a good 4-5 hours of wear before it began to crease. That's pretty good lasting power for me since my lids tend to get oily during the day.

Now, on to my favorite part: the look!

I wanted to create something bright, fun, and different using this eyeshadow. The Galaxy Chic palette from BH Cosmetics was a perfect compliment to this eyeshadow! I also used false lashes from Born Pretty Store. To see my review of the lashes, click here.
